Coach Barboza joins the NE Panthers organization with over 20+ years coaching experience including middle school, high school, college, AAU as well as training athletes of all abilities from elementary thru semi-pro & pro both locally and international too.  In addition to coaching and training, Coach Barboza resume' boast several high school, college and professional accolades which are listed further below. 

Coach Barboza was the head basketball coach for Woonsocket High School (RI) for three years winning several games and becoming the runner up State Champions in his second year.  Coach Barboza served as head basketball coach for Manchester High School for a year & head assistant coach at Framingham State College for two years.  He also has various coaching experiences at summer camps to include: Nike, Five Star, Connecticut Starters, Campbell University, Providence College and Syracuse University. 

Coach Barboza has been involved with AAU basketball for several years.  He has served as the President, Director & head coach of both girls and boys teams at A, B and Elite level for Girls Lightning & Boys Thunder based in Tewksbury, MA, Hoop Specialist in Andover, MA & BIG Threat AAU in Haverhill, MA. 

Coach Barboza personal playing experience and honors from high to professional are listed as follows: 

High School ~ 1st team All-Star Rhode Island Senior Year, Honorable Mention Converse All-America Team Senior Year.  Scored 1000 points in 2 years at varsity level of High School, Voted to High School Hall of Fame.

College ~ Eastern CT State University ~ Team MVP as Sophomore, Junior & Senior year, Voted East Coast Athletic Conference Player of the week 14 times in his college career.  Team captain Junior & Senior year.  1000+ points & 500+ rebounds.  Voted 1st Team All-New England Senior year.  Voted Honorable Mention All-American Senior year.  All-Time Leading Scorer/Rebounder.  Inducted into University Hall of Fame/September 2002

Professional Experience ~ Player/Coach Sports Club San Joanense European Pro League - 3 years, Harlem Globetrotters organization - 2 years, Sports Club Estoril (Portugal) European League - 1 year, Sport Club San Joanense (Portugal) European League - 3 years, Lead team and conference in scoring 3 consecutive years, Twice won Northern Division Championship, Twice runner-up County Championship, Voted conference MVP first 2 seasons.
